Formula One’s paddock building is rapidly approaching completion ahead of this fall’s inaugural race.
The 300,000-square-foot, three-level structure has a rooftop terrace that will serve as the centerpiece for the annual Las Vegas Grand Prix. The terrace is 70% complete at this time. The building will measure 1,000 feet long by 100 feet wide when it is completed.
Paddock level will feature the race’s start/finish line, driver pits, and garages, as well as grandstand seating. On the east side of the structure, there is a space along pit row with seats for 18,000 fans and hospitality suites.
In the first floor of the building, there will be 13 driver garages. Each team will have three garages. All the cars and the equipment needed to service the automobiles will be housed in this building, as well as the team members who run the race with the drivers and principals.
The other three garages will be used by the FIA, the governing body of Formula 1.
The garages will be plug-and-play, so that air, gas, power, and the necessary technology infrastructure will be ready for the teams to plug in their equipment and devices.
Paddock areas and team hospitality suites will be located on the west side of the building.
Each floor will have built-in kitchen spaces for various chefs and catering companies to set up their cooking areas. The second and third floors of the building will be the Paddock Club – the highest-end spectator areas on the Las Vegas Grand Prix track.
As well as the Club area on floor two, there will be a Wynn Grid Club. The area will be a unique, high-end experience thanks to a partnership with Wynn. There will be a mix of shared and private suites on the third floor.
Another high-end hospitality area will be located on the rooftop terrace of the paddock building.
When F1 is not taking place in the space, there are already special events scheduled for 2024.
