The new year means new home design trends, and we’re here to show some favorites, from the shades that are currently in (plus the ones that are out) to the importance of personalizing your space.
Color Goes Subtle with a Splash of Bold
The big favorite color is Pantone’s color of the year, Viva Magenta, a powerful red shade, but with a softer approach—the earth tones. Paint company Behr® named their color of the year Blank Canvas. Sherwin-Williams® dubbed Redend Point—a soft, warm hue with minimalistic sensations—as their color of the year.
You will see pale pink and mauve kitchen cabinets and brown-based flooring; when it comes to color, less is still more. Warmer colors are here to stay for that ultimate cozy vibe, so adding rich, bold colors that accent the home is a design must in 2023. By adding a bit of color around the home, like pale blues or greens, you can get the perfect mix of pastel and fresh ambiance. Bringing nature indoors
Connecting the outside with the inside is also known as biophilic design, and this trend will be popular this year. It’s all about focusing on nature and more luxurious designs that evoke a sense of peace. This trend is here to stay.
Making a Statement [Wall]
The power of patterns and even vintage-inspired wallpapers as accent pieces can really transform a room. Any space can come to life with a statement wall. There are also special statement lighting and glass trends for 2023, specifically with the vintage approach and custom furnishings.
Personalizing Your Home Space
Architectural Digest notes the “desire for individual expression” and the interest in unique, vintage pieces. Personalization for the home is a way to express your style and lifestyle needs in your dream space.
Bold Stones that Make an Impact
From porcelain and ceramic to high-quality quartz slabs, it’s all about creating a style that’s striking and sophisticated. And the statement pieces are not just restricted to walls. Quartz, for example, makes a strong statement in the kitchen. Another trend to look for are slabs made from natural stone for kitchen backsplashes and more.
Softened-up edges
From home hardware to room layouts, rounder edges will be trending in 2023. From arches in doorways to ceilings that are more curved, it’s all about softening the space and simplifying the square, strong edges.
