Summerlin’s award-winning master plan has been developed for 33 years and is home to more than 120,000 residents. This community is known for its outdoor lifestyle and proximity to Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.
With shopping, dining, entertainment, and sports venues, Downtown Summerlin is the community’s social gathering place, serving as a social gathering place. In addition to new homes built by the nation’s top homebuilders, Summerlin is famous for its 200-mile-long Summerlin Trail and parks that contribute to Summerlin’s signature lifestyle of outdoor activity.
Summerlin is in a league of its own when it comes to community amenities, with 300+ parks and 30 community parks. The master plan offers more amenities than any other Southern Nevada community. In order to provide residents with an array of active, outdoor lifestyle options and a high quality of life, the community was carefully designed from the very beginning with a robust offering of amenities.
Many of the parks have tennis courts, basketball courts, baseball/softball/tee-ball fields, soccer/lacrosse fields, sand volleyball courts, pickleball courts, interactive water play areas, outdoor exercise areas, shuffleboard, horseshoe pits, corn hole, and even football fields and roller hockey rinks. Ten golf courses are also located in Summerlin.
Throughout Summerlin, non-motorized trails provide walkers, joggers, and strollers with a variety of natural environments.
There are four resident-only private community centers, with three having Olympic-sized pools, which offer plenty of opportunities to socialize, play, and have fun. Summerlin’s community centers and pools have long been a part of the community’s social infrastructure, as well as hosting classes and activities for adults, teens, and children. For residents of the community, they offer summer camps, seasonal celebrations, and gathering and meeting spots.
As a community support group, Summerlin Council plays an integral role. It oversees and coordinates the community’s many youth and adult sports leagues; it offers classes of all kinds to promote continuous learning for children and adults; and it holds a variety of holiday celebrations throughout the year, including the largest Independence Day parade in the city, the Summerlin Council Patriotic Parade on July 4.
