The Summerlin master-planned community covers 35 square miles along the western edge of the Las Vegas Valley. The community is known for its spectacular views due to its high elevation and geographic position.
From the east, you can see the Las Vegas Strip as well as the valley. Six miles north to the west of downtown Summerlin, you can see many mountain peaks up close and personal, including Mount Wilson, Bridge Mountain, and Rainbow Peak, all of which are framed by the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.
Continuing north from Downtown Summerlin along the 215 Beltway to Summerlin Parkway will take you to the community’s northernmost region, where the Spring Mountains meet the La Madre range, offering views of mountains that are known for the Las Vegas Valley, such as Griffith Peak, La Madre Mountain and Mount Charleston in the distance.
Located at the base of Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, Summerlin averages 3,500 feet above sea level, with some parts exceeding 4,000 feet. As a result, cooler temperatures are enjoyed and sweeping views of the valley are available from many locations. Summerlin Parkway provides an excellent view of the valley and its expansive views, demonstrating the community’s higher elevation.
